The ensemble

The unusual name “Trio 21meter60” is an ensemble consisting of three tuba players, which was founded in 2016 as part of the Bundesauswahl Konzerte Junger Künstler (BAKJK), a support program of the German Music Council.

About Me

red & dry

Constantin Hartwig

Constantin Hartwig, our Palatinate wine region native (red variety, dry), guides the listener through the concert program with charm, and impresses with his nearly inexhaustible embouchure. A musical jack-of-all-trades who has also achieved great success with his talents beyond our trio: In addition to various ensembles, an active arranging career, several competition successes, his own solo CD and substitute work in well-known orchestras, Constantin is currently a member of the Sächsische Staatskapelle (Sachsen State Orchestra) Acadamy of Dresden. We see Constantin as simply irreplaceable!

The "Senior"

Steffen Schmid

The “senior” among us, Steffen Schmid is obviously placed right in the middle of the ensemble. The second Palatine of the bunch (his specialty: “on-demand embouchure”) has already gathered plenty of experience: ten years in the Bavarian State Orchestra, multiple substitutes in renowned orchestras and a teaching position speak for themselves here.

Despite his always busy schedule, the passionate chamber musician really loves fellowship and impresses us regularly with his careful, detailed planning of our “third” concert half (the “after-work” libation). But not only because of this – an old hand in all situations and an ever-faithful friend at our side!

The "nestling"

Fabian Neckermann

Fabian Neckermann is the youngest member of the ensemble, but despite his young age, Fabian has already come quite a long way: after stopovers in various academies, our towering “little” Lower Franconian found his way to the nation’s capital, where he has been a member of the Radio-Symphony Orchestra Berlin (RSB) since 2018. When Fabian is not enhancing our trio with his incredible low register or drumming skills, he passionately pursues his love of Bohemian wind music – likeable, down-to-earth and simply endearing!
